Answers · Google Business Profile
What are Google's rules for a Business Profile address or address change?
Short answer: Google requires a precise, real-world address where the business actually operates, with permanent signage if the address is shown; P.O. boxes, remote mailboxes and virtual offices aren't eligible. If you move, update the existing profile instead of creating a new one, and expect Google may review or re-verify it.
The address rules Google publishes
- Use your actual, real-world location. Suite numbers go in Address Line 2.
- Virtual offices (a rented mailing address you don't operate from) aren't eligible.
- A coworking office needs clear signage, customers received during business hours, and your own staff there during business hours.
- Businesses that show an address should keep permanent fixed signage with the business name there.
- Service-area businesses should hide the address. Their service area shouldn't extend farther than about 2 hours of driving from where the business is based.
- One profile per location. Don't create a second one.

How to change your address safely
- Change it once, after you've actually moved and signs are up.
- Don't change the name or category in the same window.
- Get your registration, utility bill and website onto the new address first.
- Be ready to verify again.
